John Barr blended scotch was created in 1977 to fill the gap left by Johnnie Walker Red from the UK following a dispute with the European commission over pricing and taxes. This John Barr Scotch Whisky is said to be the middle-tier of their three scotch blends; Speyside malts at the heart of the scotch give off a lightly peated scotch with subtle smoke.
